## About the network
### IPv6 Ranges
A few details about the network.
Aggregate prefixes are organized as /48 IPv6 ULAs by region:
### Protocol support
1. European CRXN
* Space: `fd8a:6111:3b1a::/48`
2. Southern African CRXN
* Space: `fded:4178:23fe::/48`
3. Indian CRXN
* Space: `fdfa:1685:3d1::/48`
4. Russian CRXN
* Space: `fda1:8885:300d::/48`
5. American CRXN
* Space: `fd68:b488:442c::/48`
We only use IPv6 on CRXN because it has many features, such as link-local addresses, that make
setting up dynamic routing protocols near-zero-config.
The regional range sare not fixed in the sense that, for example, you could
register a range in the Southern African range whilst your network is actaully
physically located in Europe. We only do this to organize the network more
easily.
It's also the modern way of the Internet and means you will get a large space of addresses
assigned to you.
### The range
The IPv6 range we use is the private range of `fd00::/8`.
### Assignments
Users get allocated a `/48` IPv6 ULA within the `fd00::/8` range (by definition).
